Adam Montgomery, a true Scottish lad, born on 18th July 2002, has carved out a niche for himself in the realm of Celtic football. Primarily recognised as a formidable defender who plays as a left back, Montgomery's stature and play stand out on the field. He stands at a height of 5ft 8in (1.73m) and weighs about 9st 6lb (60kg). The young defender sports his passion and loyalty on his chest with a number 54 jersey.
Montgomery's journey in the Premiership of Scotland commenced in July 2009 when he signed up as a trainee with Celtic. The promising talent gradually found his footing, making his debut in the 2020 - 2021 season. Montgomery featured in two first team league matches that season. The following season was a notch higher for him, as he performed in eight first-team league games.
However, the then 22-year-old's career saw a shift in the narrative, as he was loaned out to fellow Premiership side Aberdeen in January 2022. He was able to make a modest contribution at the Pittodrie, playing seven first-team matches in the 2021 - 2022 season.
Montgomery's excursion in the north of Scotland concluded in June 2022, and he returned back to his boyhood club, Celtic. After his spell with the Dons, Montgomery's involvement in the Celtic first team did not see a substantial increase, he was again loaned out to another Premiership team, St Johnstone, in July 2022, where he upped his stakes and featured in 28 first-team league games during the 2022 - 2023 season.
In June 2023, the Scottish full-back returned from St Johnstone to Celtic. However, within a month, he was experiencing a new adventure with a loan spell at Fleetwood Town in the League Two in England. This trip across the border continued until January 2024.
Upon his return from Fleetwood Town, Montgomery prepared for another brief stint on loan, transferring to Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership in January 2024, only to return back to Celtic a month later.
As it stands in the 2024 -2025 season, Montgomery has not yet made an appearance in the first team matches at Celtic. However, the Scottish left-back remains a key part of the club's framework and vision for the future.
