Alexandro Bernabéi, an Argentinian defender born on the 24th of September 2000, currently plays as a left back for Internacional. At the age of 24, Bernabéi stands at a height of 5ft 6in (1.69m) and weighs 10st 3lb (65kg).
Bernabéi's professional career started in earnest when he signed with Lanus, a top-tier team from Argentina's Primera División, in July 2018. He had an active playing season in 2019 - 2020 with 13 first-team appearances, and where he scored one goal in league matches. His presence remained consistent the following season with 24 first team appearances in league matches. However, his appearances were limited to only once in the 2022 season at Lanus.
In July 2022, Bernabéi transferred from Lanus to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership for a fee of around £3.8m. The Argentinian had a relatively engaging first season at Celtic, with 15 first-team appearances and a goal. He also made eight appearances in the following 2023 - 2024 season with Celtic.
Bernabéi's time at Celtic was interrupted when he was loaned out to Internacional, a Brazilian Série A team, in March 2024. Here, he made an impressive 23 first-team appearances and scored three goals in the same year. Season 2025 will continue to see Bernabéi suiting up for Internacional in Brazil.
In an unexpected twist, in January 2025 Bernabéi made a permanent move from Celtic to Internacional for a fee of around £4.3m. At Internacional, he remains a significant presence in the team, featuring in 23 matches and scoring three goals - thus far. With the upcoming season ahead, the Argentinian defender will continue to take the field for Internacional in Brazil.
