Eboue Kouassi, born on December 13, 1997 in Ivory Coast, currently plies his trade as a central defensive midfielder for the Portuguese side, Arouca. The 6ft tall (1.85m) midfielder, weighing around 11st (70kg), dons the number 8 jersey for his club. Kouassi's career at the international level includes representing the Ivory Coast U23 side.
In July 2014, Kouassi took his first steps in professional football by joining Russian Premier League side, Krasnodar, as a trainee. He managed one first team appearance for Krasnodar in his debut 2015 - 2016 season and nine appearances in the following season.
A major turning point in Kouassi's career came in January 2017, when he transferred to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership for a fee of £3m. Over his two full seasons at the club, 2017 - 2018 and 2018 - 2019, Kouassi made eight first team league appearances but struggled to secure a regular spot in the starting line-up.
As a result, in January 2020, Kouassi negotiated a loan switch to Belgian Pro League side Genk, before eventually securing a permanent move for about £1.4m in July of the same year. His tenure at Genk comprised two seasons, totaling 21 first team appearances in the league.
In August 2021, Kouassi embarked on another loan spell, this time at Arouca in the Liga Portugal. However, the subsequent season saw him return to Genk upon completion of his loan before finally settling back at Arouca in July 2023.
Across the 2021 - 2022 and 2023 - 2024 seasons at Arouca, Kouassi established himself as a first team regular, making a combined total of 44 league appearances and scoring his maiden goal. However, as of the current 2024 - 2025 season, he has yet to make an appearance.
