Johnny Kenny, born on 6 June 2003 and currently aged 21, hails from the Republic of Ireland. This young lad serves as a forward, primarily operating under the designation of a striker for Shamrock Rovers. With regard to his physical characteristics, he stands at 5ft 9in (approximately 1.77m) and tips the scales at 11st 2lb (around 71kg).
His journey into professional football commenced in January 2020, when he was acquired by Sligo Rovers, a Premier Division team in his home country. Making an assertive debut in the 2021 season, Kenny graced the pitch in no less than 32 first team matches, during which he contributed 11 goals to his team's tally.
January 2022 witnessed another milestone in Kenny's career, as he was transferred from Sligo Rovers to the renowned Celtic, a Premiership team in Scotland, with the transaction fees being approximately £140k. His tenure at Celtic, however, was somewhat brief.
Merely months later, in August 2022, Kenny moved from Celtic to Queen's Park, a Championship team in Scotland, this time on a loan basis. During the 2022 - 2023 season at Queen's Park, he made 12 appearances in first team league matches.
Proving to be quite the globetrotter, by January 2023 Kenny was on the move again. This time, he returned to his homeland, this time being loaned by Celtic to Shamrock Rovers, another Premier Division team in the Republic of Ireland. His performance there has been rather impressive, with the 2023 season seeing him participate in 30 first team appearances and netting five goals. As of the 2024 season at Shamrock Rovers, Kenny has already made his presence felt in 29 first team matches, during which he has scored a commendable 13 goals.
Furthermore, Kenny displayed his football prowess in the Champions League Qualifiers of 2024 - 2025 while playing for Shamrock Rovers, scoring two goals across two starts and one substitute appearance. His presence was also felt in the FAI Cup 2024, for which he made one substitute appearance. The Conference League of 2024 - 2025 was also graced by Kenny's participation, wherein he scored two goals across three starts.
