Jonjoe Kenny, born on 15 March 1997 in England, is a 27-year-old footballer who presently plays for Hertha BSC as a right back. He stands 5ft 9in (1.76m) tall and weighs about 10st 7lb (67kg). Kenny is recognized by his number 16 jersey. Transfermarkt gauges his current market value at around £2.15m and his contract with Hertha BSC is due to end on 30 June 2025.
Kenny began his professional career with Everton in July 2014. He spent numerous seasons with Everton making varying number of appearances; one each in seasons 2015-2016 and 2016-2017, 19 in 2017-2018, 10 in 2018-2019, four in 2020-2021, and finally 15 during the 2021-2022 season.
During this period, Kenny ventured out on a number of loan moves. In July 2015, he was loaned to Wigan Athletic where he made seven first team appearances in league matches in the debut season. By January 2016 he found his way to the Oxford United where he played 17 league matches. His most prolific loan spell was with Schalke 04 during the 2019-2020 season, where he chalked up 31 first team appearances and scored two goals.
However, it is his temporary move to Celtic in the Premiership in Scotland during the 2020-2021 season that is of particular interest, considering the prominence of Celtic in his career. During his time at Celtic, he made 14 first team appearances in league matches, scoring no goals but providing a solid reinforcement for the defence line.
After his time at Celtic, Kenny returned to Everton before eventually transferring to Hertha BSC in July 2022 where he has since remained. He has established himself in Germany making 29 appearances in consecutive seasons and scoring a total of four goals so far, with his current season record standing at 18 appearances and one goal.
