Liam Shaw, born on 12 March 2001, is a sturdy midfielder plying his trade at Northampton Town. This English bred, central midfielder, stands at a commanding 6ft 1in (1.87m) and weighs an athletic 11st 6lb (73kg). Shaw proudly dons the number 29 jersey whilst operating for his team.

Beginnings of Shaw's career trace back to July 2017, when he joined Championship side Sheffield Wednesday as a trainee. His debut season in 2019 - 2020 yielded a modest pair of first team appearances in league matches. Youthful exuberance led him to enhance his contribution in the 2020 - 2021 season, making an impressive 19 appearances and adding a goal to his name.

Celtic, in the Scottish Premiership, caught sight of Shaw's potential and secured his services in July 2021 for a modest fee of around £300k. Here, he graced Celtic Park in only a single league match during the 2021 - 2022 season.

Shaw's time at Celtic saw him embarking on multiple loans. January 2022 marked the start of his loan spell to fellow Premiership team, Motherwell, where he featured seven times in the league for the 2021 - 2022 season. He was later seen in England again, with a loan stint at League Two side Morecambe in September 2022. There, he managed 28 league appearances and entered the scoring books twice during the 2022 - 2023 season. Celtic later dispatched him on loan to Wigan Athletic, another English team, found in League One in July 2023.

Celtic bid farewell to Shaw in October 2024, transferring him to Fleetwood Town in England's League Two. A change of scenery was in the offing again for Liam Shaw when, in January 2025, he moved from Fleetwood to Northampton Town, a club currently competing in League One. While no light was shed on the transfer fee, the move seemed fitting for a player in his prime.

His current season 2024 - 2025 at Northampton Town paints a promising picture. In his new club colours, Shaw has already made eight first team appearances and notched two goals in league matches. Seemingly in fine form, there is no doubt there will be more to come from this tenacious midfielder.
