Liam Shaw was born on 12 March 2001 and is currently aged 23. Hailing from England, he is primarily a central midfielder, currently plying his trade for Fleetwood Town. Shaw is a sizable figure on the pitch, standing at 6ft 1in (1.87m) and weighing in at 11st 6lb (73kg). He is frequently seen sporting the number 26 jersey.
In July 2017, Shaw joined Sheffield Wednesday in the English Championship as a trainee, according to Transfermarkt. In his debut season 2019 - 2020 at Sheffield Wednesday, Shaw compiled a total of two first team appearances in league matches. In the following season, 2020 - 2021, he made a significant leap forward, making 19 first team appearances and netting his debut goal.
July 2021 marked a significant point in Shaw's career when he transferred from Sheffield Wednesday to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership. The transfer fee was reportedly around £300k. Unfortunately, Shaw's stay at Celtic was a brief one. In the season 2021 - 2022, he managed to make only one first team appearance in the league matches.
However, Shaw's time at Celtic was a stepping stone in his career. It was here he gained experience at a top-tier club and at international stages. However, game time was limited, so to aid his development, Shaw was loaned out to fellow Scottish Premiership side Motherwell in 2022. During his half-a-season loan spell, he made a total of seven first team appearances in league matches.
Later that year, in September 2022, Shaw was loaned out again, this time it was Morecambe, a League Two side based in England. Shaw featured prominently for Morecambe in the season 2022 - 2023, making 28 first team appearances and scoring twice in league matches.
In July 2023, Shaw made another loan move, this time to Wigan Athletic in League One, before returning to Celtic. October 2024 brought a permanent move away from Celtic and Scotland, with Shaw transferring to Fleetwood Town in the League Two.
Currently, in the 2024 - 2025 season at Fleetwood Town, Shaw has made eight first team appearances in league matches and also participated in the EFL Trophy 2024 - 2025 for Fleetwood Town with one start and one appearance as a substitute.
Although his stint at Celtic was brief and marred by lack of playing time, the experience undoubtedly played a part in shaping Shaw's career. He is a product of their development system, and like many others before him, he found his footing after leaving the club.
