Mikael Lustig, a towering figure standing at 6ft 2in and weighing 12st 1lb, was born on the 13th December 1986 in Sweden. He was a mainstay in the defensive right back position throughout his career. This Swedish lad began his path to Celtic stardom honing his skills as a trainee at GIF Sundsvall in the Superettan league in Sweden, joining them in July 2004.
After holding the fort at GIF Sundsvall, where he scored three times over 24 appearances, Lustig moved over to Norwegian shores, joining Rosenborg in July 2008. Showcasing versatility and nose for goal, he found the back of the net fourteen times over 95 played matches.
However, his time in Scotland, wearing the Celtic green, was undoubtedly the apex of his career. Joining the club in January 2012, Lustig introduced himself to the Premiership with his usual vigour and dedication. His time at Celtic Park saw him make 20 goal contributions over the steady ship of 164 appearances, a respectable tally for a right back by any measure.
Post Celtic, Lustig had brief stints in Belgium's Gent, where he made 16 appearances, before returning home to Sweden, strapping on the gear for AIK. His time at AIK yielded four goals over 67 fixtures, resolute till the end of his professional career.
