Born in Germany on 1 January 2000, Nicolas Kühn stands as a forward primarily playing as a right-winger for Celtic. At 25 years of age, he stands at 1.76m (5ft 9in) and weighs 69kg (10st 12lb), fully justifying his command of the number 10 jersey on the field. Transfermarkt assigns him a market value of around £9m. As of the time of writing, his contract with Celtic still has a decent span of 4 years, 5 months left to run, with an expiration date set on the final day of June in 2029.
Kühn's football journey kick-started in July 2015, when he joined RB Leipzig II in the Oberliga in Germany as a trainee. His career then took him to Jong Ajax in the Eerste Divisie in the Netherlands in January 2018 from Leipzig, for a fee rounded off to £1.8m. Making his mark at Jong Ajax, Kühn delivered a total of five first-team appearances in league matches in his debut season 2017 - 2018. The following 2018 - 2019 season saw him make 21 first team appearances, along with notching up two goals, while in the 2019 - 2020 season he appeared 17 times on the first team and scored three goals.
January 2020 witnessed Kühn moving on loan from Jong Ajax to Bayern München II in the Oberliga in Germany. He proved his worth there, making a total of 16 first team appearances and scoring two goals in the 2019 - 2020 season and 21 first-team appearances with four goals in the 2020 - 2021 season. In July 2021, he found himself transferred again, this time from Bayern München II to Erzgebirge Aue in the 3. Liga in Germany, again on loan. Over at Erzgebirge Aue, he made 27 first team appearances and scored three goals in the 2021 - 2022 season.
His next big move came in July 2022 when Kühn transferred from Bayern München II to Rapid Vienna in the Bundesliga in Austria for a fee of approximately £450k. He held his ground at Rapid Vienna with 20 first-team appearances and three goals in the 2022 - 2023 season and 16 first-team appearances accompanied by two goals in the 2023 - 2024 season.
January 2024 brought Kühn to Celtic, moving from Rapid Vienna for a solid £3m. At Celtic, he's made 14 first-team appearances and scored two goals in the latter half of the 2023 - 2024 season. In the current 2024 - 2025 season, he's showered the pitch with ten goals in 24 first-team appearances.
Not one to be confined to the league, Kühn has also shone in tournaments including the League Cup 2024 - 2025, where he scored five goals in three starts and one appearance as a substitute; the Scottish Cup 2024 - 2025 where he's had two starts; and in the Champions League 2024 - 2025 where he delivered three goals in ten starts.
