Ross Doohan, a Scottish born goalkeeper, currently dons the number 31 jersey at Aberdeen. Born on the 29th of March, 1998, the agile keeper stands at 6ft 1in (1.86m) tall and weighs 11st 11lb (75kg). As of late, Transfermarkt values the skillful stopper around €250k, which equates to approximately £208,000. He also looks set to remain with Aberdeen until 31st May 2025, considering the remaining four months of his contract.
Doohan commenced his football journey with Celtic, transferring on loan to several Scottish clubs, including Greenock Morton in the Championship, Ayr United in the Championship and Ross County in the Premiership before heading to Dundee United in the Premiership, all between August 2017 and April 2021. In particular, his tenure at Ross County during the 2020-2021 season saw him make his debut, making five appearances in league matches. Whilst at Dundee United in the same season, he managed to engage in two league matches.
After a short stint back at Celtic following the completion of his loan in June 2021, Doohan ventured south to England, firstly joining Tranmere Rovers in League Two on loan. His 2022-2023 season with Tranmere Rovers offered more playtime as he made 25 appearances in league matches. However, his return to Celtic was short-lived, and in July, Doohan transferred back to Tranmere Rovers for an undisclosed fee. During this time, he continued his consistency of making 25 league appearances.
As the winds of change blew, January 2023 saw Doohan transfer from Tranmere Rovers to Forest Green Rovers in the National League, again for an undisclosed fee. His tenure at Forest Green Rovers was rather short and he only made ten first-team appearances in league matches. In July 2023, Doohan was then transferred back to Scotland, this time joining Aberdeen in the Premiership, again for an undisclosed fee.
Upon his arrival at Aberdeen during the 2023-2024 season, he made a solitary first-team appearance in a league match. In contrast, he has been a familiar face between the goalposts for this current 2024-2025 season, making a notable 12 first-team appearances to date. Furthermore, this season has also seen Doohan take part in the League Cup for Aberdeen, where he started once and also the Scottish Cup where he started twice. His contribution to Celtic over the multiple seasons should not go unnoticed, but certainly, Doohan's continual development and more regular playtime is gaining good traction in his current club, Aberdeen.
