Yesterday’s Hoople was Du Wei. After successfully captaining the China U-23 and Olympic teams, Du Wei moved from Shanghai Shenua to Celtic on a 6 month loan in 2005. He made one appearance in the Hoops, in an infamous Scottish Cup defeat to Clyde on 8 January 2006. He was substituted at half-time, after a torrid first half during which he conceded a penalty. Clyde went on to win the match 2-1, and Du Wei returned to Shanghai Shenua a few days later. That’s not all, folks!
