Adam Legzdins, born on the chilly eve of 28 November 1986 in the rather precisely organised nation of England, is a footballer who claims the most defenders patch of land on the pitch- the goalpost. Currently plying his trade for the Scottish club, Dundee, he adorns the unlucky for some, number 13 jersey. Standing at a mighty 6ft 2in (1.9m for the metrically inclined) and weighing in at 14st 2lb (or 90kg if you prefer a Continental flavour), Adam is not an easy figure to bypass in front of goal.
On the financial front, our man Legzdins is valued at a modest €100k, or close to £85k in the Queen's currency. This estimation comes courtesy of Transfermarkt. His current contract with Dundee will see him guard their nets until the 31st of May 2025, giving him just over half a year left at the club.
Legzdins' career is a veritable tour of the lower English divisions, having donned goalkeeper's gloves for a host of clubs across the nation. He kicked off his professional career in the 2005-2006 season at FC Halifax Town, making a total of 40 first team appearances over two stints. Weymouth, Crewe Alexandra, and twice with Burton Albion were his next ports of call before eventually stepping up to Derby County in the 2011-2012 season.
Whilst at Derby, Legzdins helped guard the Rams’ goalpost in a total of 35 matches over two seasons, one of which fell within the controversial "Old Firm"-less 2012-2013 season. The seasons following saw our stalwart goalie making a total of 16 first team appearances for Leyton Orient and Birmingham City before finally crossing the border into Scotland.
Since taking his talents to Dundee, Legzdins has made a respectable 48 first team appearances for the Dees across two seasons. On a sadder note, the current 2024-2025 season has yet to see him make a first team appearance. On a brighter side, he has had the chance to participate in the prestigious Scottish Cup 2023-2024 for Dundee, earning himself a start in the process.
