Albian Ajeti, a forward primarily recognised for his role as a striker for Basel, was born in Switzerland on the 26th of February 1997, making him 28 years old. Measuring 6 feet (1.83m) tall and weighing 12 stone 1 pound (77kg), Ajeti sports the number 23 jersey.
In January 2014, Ajeti made his mark by joining Basel in the Super League in Switzerland. During his varied seasons with Basel, Ajeti had a commendable record, scoring goals regularly and making frequent first team appearances, notably scoring 14 goals each in the seasons 2017-2018 and 2018-2019. In the current 2024-2025 season, Ajeti has already made 19 appearances and scored five goals.
Ajeti was transferred to Augsburg in the Bundesliga in Germany around January 2016, for a fee approximated at £700,000. His stint there didn't last long as, by August 2016, he was on loan to St. Gallen in the Super League in Switzerland. After a fruitful period at St. Gallen, where he scored ten goals in the the season 2016-2017, he was transferred permanently for a fee estimated at £850,000 in July 2017.
An intriguing transfer occurred in October 2017 when Ajeti returned to Basel for around £1.3 million. It is fair to say that Ajeti had an illustrious and fruitful second period with Basel, scoring abundantly and making frequent appearances.
In August 2019, an opportunity was presented for Ajeti to test English football fields as he transferred to West Ham United in the Premier League, for a generous sum of £8 million. His time at West Ham was brief, as by August 2020, he was transferred to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership for around £4.5 million.
Ajeti's time at Celtic was marked by regular appearances and several goals. Within two seasons, he made 27 appearances for Celtic and found the back of the net eight times. His time on Scottish turf was a fruitful spell, albeit brief.
Things took a turn in August 2022 when Ajeti was loaned to Sturm Graz in the Bundesliga in Austria. His stint was brief yet productive, netting three goals in 15 appearances. His journey continued, and in September 2023 he was transferred to Gaziantep in the Süper Lig in Turkey for a sum of around £500,000. By February 2024, however, Ajeti found himself returning home to Switzerland, back to his roots with Basel, where he continues to leave an influential mark.
