Born in Cyprus on 13 April 1994, Alex Gogic is a seasoned central defensive midfielder playing for St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership. As of the 2024-2025 season, 30-year-old Gogic stands at 6ft (1.85m) and weighs 13st (83kg), often found wearing the number 13 jersey. Apart from his club commitments, he has taken the field representing his homeland, Cyprus.
Gogic began his journey in professional football with the Greek top-tier side, Olympiacos. In July 2013, he made a move away from Greece to join Swansea City, playing in the English Championship league.
After a spell with the Swans in the Championship, Gogic set off for pastures new in Scotland. In February 2017, he joined Hamilton Academical, a Championship side at the time. His debut season saw him make seven first-team appearances, and he progressively became a mainstay in the team over subsequent seasons, totting up further 18, 16, and 29 appearances in the seasons from 2017 to 2020. In this tenure, he also put his name on the scoresheet twice.
July 2020 marked a new chapter in Gogic's career, with his transfer from Hamilton to Hibernian. He spent two seasons with the Leith-based Premiership outfit, making 43 appearances and scoring a goal before switching allegiance to St Mirren, initially on a loan deal in January 2022.
During his time with St Mirren, Gogic proved instrumental in the heart of the midfield, culminating in a permanent move to the Buddies in August 2022. By the 2024-2025 season, he had chalked up over 80 appearances in the green and white stripes of the Saint Mirren jersey, scoring five goals along the way. The Cypriot international was crucial in St Mirren's League Cup and Scottish Cup campaigns, as well as featuring in Euro qualifiers for his nation and the UEFA Conference League Qualifiers for his club.
