Arthur Vermeeren, an enterprising Belgian talent, was brought into this world on 7 February 2005, which puts him at the ripe age of 19. Standing at the height of 5ft 9in (1.76m) and weighing 11st (70kg), Vermeeren plays as a solid defensive midfielder for RB Leipzig. Adorning the number 18 jersey, this young midfielder has not only made a mark in club football but has also had the honour of representing the Belgian national team.
As per the data provided by Transfermarkt, Vermeeren currently holds a market value of approximately £21.5m. His contract with RB Leipzig, which is due to end on 30 June 2025, has about eight months left to see out.
In July 2018, Vermeeren took his first strides into professional football as he joined the Pro League club, Royal Antwerp, in his native Belgium. During the 2022 - 2023 season, Vermeeren was given the chance to make his mark and managed to feature in 20 league matches. He proved his mettle during the following 2023 - 2024 season, making 21 appearances and even bagging a goal for the Royal Antwerp side.
Vermeeren's consistent performances did not go unnoticed. In January 2024, he was snapped up by the Spanish giants Atletico Madrid in a deal worth around £15m. However, his stint in the Spanish capital was rather short-lived as he only made five appearances during the 2023 - 2024 season.
In a surprising turn of events, Vermeeren was shipped out on loan to RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga the following August 2024. As of the current 2024 - 2025 season, he has already made eight appearances in the German top-flight competition.
Alongside his club duties, Vermeeren has also had a taste of the international stage participating in Euro Qualifiers 2022 - 2024 for Belgium and making one appearance as a substitute. Earning his stripes on the European stage, Vermeeren also appeared in the Champions League 2024 - 2025 campaign for RB Leipzig, where he completed two starts and made one substitute appearance.
