Consider Ben Doak, a Scottish footballer born on 11 November 2005. As of now, this lad of an age 19 years assumes the role of a forward for football titan Liverpool, essentially operating as an adept right winger. The chap stands at a height of 5ft 9in (1.76m) tall and tips the scales at 10st 3lb (65kg). Not limited to club football, Doak has unfailingly represented the Scotland national team on the pitch as well.
It was back in July 2020 when young Doak bade his entry into the thriving world of professional football, joining Celtic in the Scottish Premiership as a trainee. Admittedly, his time with Celtic was short lived but nonetheless significant. His inaugural 2021 - 2022 season at Celtic didn't see him saturate the pitch time, but he graced the field as part of the first team twice in league matches.
As the winds of change blew in March 2022, Doak bid farewell to the Scottish Premiership, transferring from Celtic to Liverpool in the Premier League with a transfer fee circling around £600k. His career took flight at Liverpool; even though he only made two first team appearances in league matches for season 2022 - 2023, followed by a sole appearance the next season. In the ongoing season of 2024 - 2025 at Liverpool, he hasn't so far exhibited his skills on the main stage.
However, it appears that playing time has been much more favourable for Doak since his recent loan move to Middlesbrough in the Championship in August 2024. He has already marked 24 first team appearances and netted three goals in league fixtures for the current season of 2024 - 2025.
Additionally, his participation has not been confined to club football. He demonstrated his skill during the Europa League tie of 2023 - 2024 for Liverpool with three starting appearances. Similarly, he represented Scotland in the Nations League 2024 - 2025, where he had four starts and two appearances as a substitute. Even at such a young age, Doak's career shows promising prospects.
