Beni Baningime was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, back when it was still known as Zaire, on 9 September 1998, making him 26 years old at the time of writing. This midfielder, who usually favours playing in the central position, has served with distinction for the Hearts, where he sports the number 6 jersey. He cuts a formidable figure on the pitch, standing at 5ft 10in (1.78m) tall and weighing in at 11st 11lb (75kg).
He currently has a market value of about £1m, as cited by Transfermarkt. He has 1 year and 3 months remaining on his contract with Hearts, which is set to come to an end on 31 May 2026.
Baningime's professional journey began in 2007 when he joined the Premier League team Everton as a trainee. He first experienced the thrill of stepping out onto the pitch as a first team member in the 2017-18 season, making eight appearances in total for Everton's league matches. However, in January 2019, he was transferred on loan to Wigan Athletic, a club in England's League One, where he managed one first team appearance.
Baningime returned to Everton in June 2019, following the completion of his loan term with Wigan, and again saw action in eight games. His next move came in February 2021, another loan, this time to Derby County, a Championship club in England, where he played twice as part of the first team.
July 2021 saw Baningime transferred from Everton to Hearts, a Premiership club in Scotland, for an undisclosed fee. During the 2021-22 season at Hearts, he made 24 first team appearances and scored his solitary league goal. The following seasons of 2023-24 and 2024-25 have seen him make 29 and 20 first team appearances respectively so far. He also had the honour of participating in the Scottish Cup 2024-25 for Hearts, starting three times, and the Conference League 2024-25 for Hearts, where he started twice.
