Benjamin Henrichs, born on 23 February 1997, is a German international defender currently donning the number 39 for RB Leipzig. Known primarily as a right-back, at 6ft tall (1.83m) and weighing 12st 1lb (77kg), he brings a distinctive physicality to his role.
With the current market value standing around £18m, sourced via Transfermarkt, Henrichs' agreement with RB Leipzig will not run its course until 30 June 2028, which is a good three years and eight months away.
Henrichs first embarked on his professional journey with Bayer Leverkusen in Germany's Bundesliga in July 2012. His progression was steady and noticeable, with a total of 62 first-team appearances over four seasons, starting with nine in his debut season (2015-2016) and peaking at 29 in the subsequent season (2016-2017).
In August 2018, he made a significant move across borders to join Monaco in France's Ligue 1, for a transfer fee of around £18m. His tenure at Monaco saw him make contributions in 35 league matches over two seasons and even notch a goal to his name.
July 2020 marked the start of his loan spell at RB Leipzig, where his consistent performances earned him a permanent switch a year later for a fee of £14m. His stay at RB Leipzig has witnessed him making vital contributions in league matches across multiple seasons, tallying a total of 107 appearances and scoring six goals in the process. In the current season (2024-2025), he has already made nine appearances.
Henrichs' influence on the pitch also extends to Europe's premier club competition, the Champions League. He represented RB Leipzig in the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 seasons, making a total of six starts in the former and four appearances (three starts, one substitute) in the latter.
