August 2017 saw Mikulic make a significant leap to Sampdoria in the Serie B, in Italy. A year later, he returned to his native soil, transferring to Hajduk Split in the HNL. Not one for staying put, Mikulic was loaned out to Slaven Belupo, another HNL club, in August 2019 and returned to Hajduk Split in August 2020 after the completion of his loan spell.
Continuing his journey across Europe, in August 2021, Mikulic made a move from Hajduk Split to Messina in the Seconda Divisione Girone B in Italy. A transfer in February 2022 saw him leave Italy for Auda in the Virslīga in Latvia, with the transfer fee remaining undisclosed.
