In January 2017, Mechele was loaned out to Sint-Truiden, also part of Belgium's Pro League. Here, he played in seven first-team matches and found the net once. His time with Sint-Truiden concluded in June 2017, when he returned to Club Brugge, continuing with his steady performances.
