Bryan Prunty was born in Scotland on 12 January 1983 and, at the age of 41, is still playing professional football. He is a forward who primarily plays as a striker for Cumbernauld United and stands at 5ft 10in (1.78m) tall, with a weight of 11st 4lb (72kg).
Prunty began his professional journey in January 1999 when he joined Celtic as a trainee. His progression through the ranks of the storied club culminated in a fruitful tenure with the senior side. He transitioned from Celtic to Aberdeen in January 2004, making his debut in the season 2003 - 2004 where he had 18 first team appearances and managed to find the back of the net twice.
Prunty's journey through the Scottish football scene continued as he moved from Aberdeen to Inverness CT in August 2004. He made 25 appearances and scored two goals in his first season at Inverness CT. But his time at Inverness CT was short-lived, and he found himself making the move to Airdrieonians in the Scottish Championship in August 2005.
It was at Airdrieonians that Prunty flourished, proving himself a key player across several seasons, punctuated by a remarkable 2014 - 2015 season where he made 31 first team appearances and scored 14 goals.
Prunty's circuit of Scottish football did not end there. He had spells at Ayr United, Stirling Albion on loan, Alloa Athletic, and an impressive tenure at Dumbarton, where he recorded 14 goals in the 2011 - 2012 season.
In September 2014, Prunty found himself on loan to Kilbirnie Ladeside in the Junior Teams. However, his time there was brief and he quickly came back to the Championship to his former club Airdrieonians where he had a fruitful spell.
His career took him subsequently to Arbroath, East Kilbride and Broomhill, before he eventually made the move in September 2018 to his current club, Cumbernauld United, a team on the Junior circuit of Scottish football. Despite his age, in the current season of 2024 - 2025, Prunty still pulls on his boots, though he is yet to make a first team appearance.
From his journeyman's tale across the clubs of Scottish football, Bryan Prunty has proven his dedication to the game – a true stalwart of his craft.
