Chris Killen, a forward primarily recognised as a striker, was born in New Zealand on 8 October 1981. Currently affiliated with Shenzhen FC, Killen's physical stature has always been a key aspect of his game, standing at a sturdy 5ft 10in (1.8m) and weighing in at 11st 2lb (71kg).
Beginning his club career in earnest, Killen joined Manchester City in March 1999, becoming familiar with the hustle and bustle of the Premier League in England. Over the course of the 2001 - 2002 season, Killen made three appearances for City's first team.
In a change of scenery, Killen transferred on loan to Wrexham within the English League One in August 2000. Making an impact, he made 12 appearances and scored three goals in league matches during the 2000 - 2001 season.

Moving to chilly Scotland, Killen transferred from Oldham Athletic to Hibernian in the Premiership in January 2006. During his time with Hibernian, he made a name by scoring 16 goals across 25 appearances over two seasons.
In May 2007, Killen made a higher-profile move, transferring from Hibernian to Celtic. At Celtic, Killen displayed an assured presence, earning 26 first-team appearances across three seasons and scoring two goals. His best season was the 2007 - 2008 campaign, in which he made 20 appearances and bagged a goal.
During his tenure at Celtic, Killen also experienced a loan spell at Norwich City in England's Championship during the 2008 - 2009 season, where he made four first-team appearances.
In January 2010, Killen left Celtic to join Middlesbrough in the Championship. During his stint, he made 17 appearances and scored three goals.
Killen continued his journey in the sport by undertaking a more exotic destination, transferring from Middlesbrough to Shenzhen FC within China's League One in July 2010. His current situation in the ongoing 2024 season at Shenzhen FC has seen him yet to make an appearance in league matches.
