Chris Mepham, born in England on 5 November 1997 and standing at a sturdy 6ft 3in tall and weighing 11st 11lb, plies his trade as a central defender for Bournemouth. His shirt carries the number 6, marking him as a core member of the team. Mepham has also lent his talents internationally, donning the Wales jersey.
Mepham's recent records for the 2023 - 2024 campaign reveal that he trotted onto the pitch for Bournemouth in ten Premier League duels, getting the nod in the starting lineup six times and making four substitute appearances. He also joined the fray in the FA Cup, making one start, and played an essential role in the Euro Qualifiers between 2022 - 2024, taking part from the starting whistle on nine occasions.
Mepham began his professional journey in July 2016 after being recruited by Brentford as a trainee. However, his time in London was cut short in January 2019 when Bournemouth coughed up a fee of around £12m, enticing him away from Brentford, thereby make him a member of their ranks.
Mepham had an active initial 2017 - 2018 season at Brentford, striding onto the field for 21 first team clashes, addin one goal to his tally. During his second season with the Bees, he kept his momentum, making 22 first team appearances.
But halfway through the 2018 - 2019 season, he was whisked away to Bournemouth, where he finished the season making 13 first team appearances. He managed to find the net once during the 2019 - 2020 season, despite only being fielded in 12 games. The following campaign saw a slight improvement, with Mepham getting game time in 24 matches, with an additional goal to his name.
Despite a tepid start to his Bournemouth career, Mepham steadied himself, featuring in 22 games during the 2021 - 2022 season, and 26 games in the 2022 - 2023 season. Unfortunately, his run was stifled in the 2023 - 2024 season, with only ten appearances. As for the current 2024 - 2025 season, Mepham has yet to make an appearance for Bournemouth.
