Daryl Murphy, an Irish striker, born on 15th March 1983, stands 6ft 2in tall and tips the scales at 13st 9lb.
Murphy started his playing career in his native Ireland playing for Waterford. In June 2005, he decided to take his services across the sea to England, transferring to Sunderland.
Following a short loan spell with Sheffield Wednesday, he had a decent run with Sunderland, finishing with 10 goals in the 2006 - 2007 season.
However, at Sunderland, he often found himself loaned out, one of these stints being at Ipswich Town in February 2010 where he scored five goals in 17 first team appearances.
In the summer of 2010, Murphy moved north of the border to Celtic in a deal worth around £1.5m. Despite a less than prolific spell, he managed three goals in 18 appearances.
His services were again loaned out, and he found himself back at Ipswich Town in the English Premier League. He managed to get himself on the scoresheet four times in 33 appearances.
After a brief return to Scotland, he settled into a longer stint at Ipswich where he racked up 27 goals in the 2014 - 2015 season, a high point of his career.
In August 2016, he moved to Newcastle United and a year later he was on the move again, this time to Nottingham Forest.
Following a few seasons in the English Midlands, he returned to Waterford, the club where it all began, in August 2020. At the time of writing, he's yet to find the back of the net in his latest spell.
