Born on 28 November 1990, the Belgian defender Dedryck Boyata currently plies his trade for Club Brugge as a central defender. Standing tall at 6ft 2in (1.88m) and weighing 13st 3lb (84kg), he adorns the number 28 jersey.
His football upbringing unfolded in the Premier League, with Boyata joining Manchester City in July 2009. In his debut season alone, he made three first team appearances in league matches. Over subsequent seasons, Boyata made a handful of appearances, with two appearances in 2014 - 2015 being his last outings for the Cityzens.
A brief loan spell at Bolton Wanderers in the 2011 - 2012 English League One season granted him slightly more match experience, with Boyata contributing one goal in 14 appearances. Another loan season followed at FC Twente in the Dutch Eredivisie in 2012 - 2013, before his return to Manchester City.
Summer 2015 marked a significant turning point, with Boyata transferring to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership for a fee of around £1.5m.
