Over the next few years, his presence on the field gradually grew from seven appearances in the 2013 - 2014 season to a peak of 28 appearances in the 2016 - 2017 season. His strike rate varied, with four goals in his 2015 - 2016 season being his most prolific period at Hamilton.
During the same period, he had brief spells at Queen's Park and Dumbarton on loan. At Queen's Park in the 2013 - 2014 season, he made his time count with seven goals from nine appearances. Meanwhile, his performance at Dumbarton in the 2015 - 2016 season yielded a goal from ten appearances.
In August 2017, Brophy swapped the colours of Hamilton Academical for Kilmarnock's, for an undisclosed fee, in the Scottish Premiership. This too turned into a permanent fixture in July 2023 as he transferred from St Mirren to Ross County, the fee, as usual, kept under wraps. At his current club, he's been gradually making his mark, with three goals scored from 25 appearances in the 2023-2024 season.
He's also had his hand in League Cup 2024 - 2025 for Ross County, scoring one goal in three starts with two appearances as a substitute, and the Scottish Cup 2023 - 2024 for Ross County, with a single appearance as a substitute.
