Éderson dos Santos was born on 7 July 1999 in Brazil and now, at the age of 25, plays as a central midfielder for Italian Serie A club, Atalanta. Standing at 6 feet tall (1.83m) and weighing in at 13 stone 7 pounds (86 kg), Éderson is a solid presence in the midfield. He's a key part of the team, wearing the number 13 jersey, and also represents the Brazilian national team.
According to Transfermarkt, Éderson is currently valued at €40m, which is equivalent to around £34m. His contract with Atalanta is set to expire on 30 June 2027, with two years and nine months still remaining.
Éderson's professional career began when he transferred from Desportivo Brasil to Cruzeiro in July 2018 for an undisclosed fee. Despite being his debut season, he made five first-team appearances in league matches.
In his sophomore season at Cruzeiro, Éderson upped his game and made 21 first-team appearances, scoring two goals. Yet February 2020 saw another transfer for Éderson as he moved from Cruzeiro to Corinthians.
During his time at Corinthians, Éderson made 15 first-team appearances. However, March 2021 saw him move on loan to Fortaleza, where he made 34 first team appearances and scored one goal.
In January 2022, Éderson transferred from Corinthians to Italian Serie B club Salernitana for around £5.9m. Despite being a newcomer to the Italian league, he made 15 first-team appearances and scored two goals.
July 2022 marked another major move for Éderson, this time transferring from Salernitana to Serie A club Atalanta for a fee of about £19m. Since his move, Éderson has made steady progress at Atalanta. He scored one goal in 35 first-team appearances in the 2022-2023 season. The following year, he improved his tally to six goals in 36 appearances. In the current season (2024-2025), he's scoring at a similar rate with one goal in eight appearances.
Outside of his league performance, Éderson has also made his mark in international competition. He scored one goal in 11 starts in the 2023-24 Europa League for Atalanta, made a start in the 2024-25 UEFA Super Cup, and even had a brief stint in the Copa America 2024 for Brazil, making one appearance as a substitute. He also started two games in the Champions League for Atalanta in the 2024-25 season.
