Ewan Wilson may only be 20, but the lad's already beginning to make a name for himself in the world of Scottish football. Born on 19 November 2004, Wilson is best utilised as a left back, a position he's filled regularly for Motherwell. Standing at a modest 5ft 10in (1.79m) and with a solid build at 12st 8lb (80kg), he holds his own on the pitch.
The young defender sports the number 23 jersey for Motherwell, and according to Transfermarkt, has a current market value of around £212,000. His contract with the Premiership club is due to expire on 31 May 2025, six months from now.
Wilson started his career as a trainee at Motherwell back in July 2013. He's managed a decent dose of experience since then, making 13 first team appearances for the club in league matches during the current 2024 - 2025 season alone.
September 2022 saw Wilson heading out on loan to Albion Rovers in Scotland's Lowland League. Whilst with Rovers, Wilson took to the field in 16 league matches during the 2022 - 2023 season.
Once the loan period was finished, Wilson returned to Motherwell in June 2023 only to be sent out on loan again, this time to Stirling Albion in Scotland's League Two in September 2023. He once more returned to Motherwell in June 2024, in proper time for the 2024 - 2025 season, a season during which he has again made 13 appearances for the club in league matches.
The young Scot also had the opportunity to participate in the League Cup 2024 - 2025 for Motherwell. Oddly enough, he started on seven occasions. One only hopes the lad keeps at it, and we'll see how far he gets in football, eh?
