The well-traveled journeyman called Fábio Daniel Soares Silva, or if we're being less formal, just 'Fábio Silva', was born in Portugal on the 19th of July, 2002. Now at the ripe old age of 22, he finds himself sporting the fetching number 37 jersey for Las Palmas whilst stationed primarily as a striker. He measures up at around 6ft (1.85m) and tips the scales at 11st 11lb (75kg). In addition to offering his services at club level, he's also had the "honour" of turning out for Portugal's under-21 team.
You might remember him from such stints as his trainee days at Porto in Portugal back in July 2010. In the season 2019-2020, he managed to squeeze himself onto the pitch for 12 league matches and rustled the net a grand total of one time. Then in September 2020, the big move to the English Premier League with Wolverhampton Wanderers came along, a snip at around £36m.
For Wolves, he played the solitary striker in 32 league matches during the 2020-2021 season, finding the goal four times. The 2021-2022 season saw him feature in 22 league matches, before making a partry 8 appearances during the 2023-2024 season.
In July 2022, Wolves obviously decided there was another club, Anderlecht in this case, where 'Fábio Silva' could do with adding more notches to his travel case. Off he goes on loan to Belgium. Over there he managed 20 league matches and even scored seven goals. By January 2023, Silva was on the move once again, this time to PSV in the Eredivisie in the Netherlands, as is the nomadic life of a footballer on loan. He scored four goals in 14 league appearances that season.
Once more unto the Wolves, dear friends, once more. Back to England he goes in July 2023 on completion of his loan to PSV. But, in January 2024, it appears the call of the wild sets in again and this time he couldn't resist a loan move to Rangers. During his brief sojourn in Scotland, he made 18 league appearances and scored four goals.
In June 2024, Silva returned to Wolverhampton Wanderers upon completing his loan - for the umpteenth time! Alas, it wasn't meant to last. August 2024 sees our jet-setting journeyman transfer on loan to Las Palmas in Spain. A true cosmopolitan.
In the current season of 2024-2025, Silva has scrabbled together five first team appearances and has managed to score one goal in league matches. Aside from club football, he has featured in UEFA U21 Qualifiers 2023 for Portugal U21 with three starts, and UEFA U21 Championship Qualifiers 2024-2025, stubbornly finding the back of the net eight times over eight starts and two substitute appearances. It seems the young lad does show promise...when he's not busy moving from one club to another.
