Born on the 27th of April in 2001, Austrian national Flavius Daniliuc is more than just a compact 6ft 1in (1.86m) and 11st 13lb (76kg) footballer. He currently occupies the crucial role of a central defender at Hellas Verona, fervently embodying the number 4 as he graces the pitch. It's worth mentioning that his talent has also been recognised on an international level with appearances for the Austrian national team.
Daniliuc's journey in professional football flags off in Germany, where he became a trainee at Bayern München II in the Oberliga back in the January of 2015. Whilst there, he showed commendable progression, having made his debut in the first team within the 2019-2020 season, making an impact in four league matches.
However, July 2020 marked a shift in seas for Daniliuc as he transferred to Nice in France's Ligue 1 from Bayern München II. His tenure at Nice proved quite productive. In the 2020-2021 season alone, he made a healthy 23 appearances in the first team, even managing to find the back of the net once. This was followed by 24 appearances in the subsequent 2021-2022 season and a couple in the 2022-2023 season.
A twist in Daniliuc's rendezvous with football came about in August 2022 when he packed his bags for Italy, joining Serie B's Salernitana for a hefty price of around £4.5m. His performance with Salernitana was consistent, with 27 appearances in the 2022-2023 season and a substantial 14 in the following 2023-2024 season. His efforts in the ongoing 2024-2025 season, though early, have rewarded him with three appearances and a goal to his name.
In January 2024, Daniliuc welcomed another change of scenery, albeit temporarily, as he went on a loan to Red Bull Salzburg in Austria's Bundesliga. Here, he took to the pitch 11 times during the 2023-2024 season.
With the completion of his loan term in June 2024, he returned to Salernitana, offering his services in 27 and 14 matches in the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 seasons respectively. The 2024-2025 season has also seen him make three appearances, contributing with a valuable goal as well.
Another loan bid came his way in August 2024, taking him to Hellas Verona in Italy's Serie A. His time here, though recent, has witnessed him feature in four matches for the first team in the 2024-2025 season.
Daniliuc's international prowess was put to the test in Austria's participation in the Euro Qualifiers between 2022 and 2024, where he showcased his aptitude with one start.
