Gregor Kobel was born on the 6th of December, 1997, making him currently 26 years old. The lad hails from Switzerland and is a respected goalkeeper for Borussia Dortmund, donning the number 1 jersey. He stands tall at 6 feet 3 inches (1.93m) and weighs in at a solid 14 stone 2 pounds (90kg). His skills extend beyond his club duties, having also represented his home country, Switzerland, on the international stage.
Considering the lad's talent, it's no surprise that his current market value is a hefty sum. According to Transfermarkt, Kobel is valued at approximately £33.5m. He's tied to Borussia Dortmund until the 30th of June, 2028, as his contract has just under four years left to run.
Looking back at his early career, Kobel most definitely wasn't born in the spotlight. While he was at 1899 Hoffenheim during the 2018 - 2019 season, young Gregor only made a single appearance with the first team. His move to Augsburg in the same season, however, saw him take the pitch 16 times.
The 2019 - 2020 season with Stuttgart in Germany put Kobel firmly on the map. He made 31 appearances with the first team, and the next season delighted Stuttgart fans with 33 outings.
After moving to Borussia Dortmund, Kobel showed consistent performance, with 29 appearances during the 2021 - 2022 season, followed by three straight seasons of 27, 27, and, at present, three first team appearances.
Outside the regular seasons, Kobel has also made his mark in prestigious championships. In the Champions League 2023 - 2024, he had 12 starts for Borussia Dortmund. On the international scene, he had one start in the Euro Qualifiers 2022 - 2024, two in the Nations League 2024 - 2025 for Switzerland, and to date one start in the Champions League 2024 - 2025 for Borussia Dortmund.
