Born in Sweden on 10 April 2000, Gustaf Lagerbielke is a staunch central defender currently playing for FC Twente. With a towering presence of 6ft 3in (1.91m) and a solid weight of 12st 8lb (80kg), Lagerbielke is a force to be reckoned with, wearing the number 3 jersey with pride. He has also earned his stripes on a national level, representing Sweden.
Lagerbielke's current market value sits at around Β£1.5m, according to Transfermarkt. His time at FC Twente appears to be in its twilight, with just 4 months remaining on his contract, due to expire on 30 June 2025.
Having started his professional career in 2019 with Sollentuna FK in the Division 2 of Sweden, Lagerbielke showed promise early on. This led to a transfer in January 2021 to Vasteras SK in the Superettan, the second tier of Swedish football. He moved on again in August 2021, joining IF Elfsborg in the Allsvenskan, Sweden's top flight. The details of the transfer fee have remained undisclosed.
During his time with IF Elfsborg, Lagerbielke's appearances gradually increased each season. From two appearances in his debut season, to six the following year, and eventually 16 appearances in the third season, with two goals to boot. This promising record saw Lagerbielke join Degerfors IF in the Allsvenskan on loan in July 2022. There, he made 14 appearances and scored three goals. When his loan period ended in January 2023, he returned to IF Elfsborg and continued his upward trajectory.
In August 2023, Lagerbielke made a significant move, joining Celtic in the Scottish Premiership for an impressive fee of around Β£3m. During the 2023-2024 season, he made seven appearances for Celtic. His time in Scotland was relatively short-lived, however, as he was loaned to FC Twente in the Dutch Eredivisie in August 2024. Currently, in the 2024-2025 season, Lagerbielke has made 17 first team appearances and scored one goal.
Away from league action, Lagerbielke represented FC Twente in the 2024-2025 KNVB Beker and Europa League campaigns. He started twice in the KNVB Beker, and made a total of eight appearances in the Europa League, scoring one goal in the process.
