Gustaf Nilsson, born on the 23rd of May 1997 in Sweden, is a forward who lends his talents primarily as a striker for Club Brugge. Standing at 6ft 5in (1.97m) tall and weighing in at 13st 7lb (86kg), Nilsson cuts an imposing figure on the pitch in his number 19 jersey. Beyond his club commitments, Nilsson has also represented the national team of his homeland, Sweden.

Nilsson's journey in professional football began in earnest in July 2014 when he joined Falkenbergs FF in the Division 1 Norra in Sweden. Over the course of his initial seasons with Falkenbergs, Nilsson made 37 first team appearances and scored 8 goals in league matches.
Following his tenure with Falkenbergs, Nilsson transferred to Brondby in the Superliga in Denmark for an undisclosed fee in July 2016. His time at Brondby, however, was brief with just one league appearance to his name before he was loaned to Silkeborg, also in the Danish Superliga, the following year. Whilst at Silkeborg, Nilsson found the back of the net four times across 22 league appearances.
Nilsson's stint with Silkeborg ended in July 2018 when he returned to Brondby only to make another immediate transfer, this time to Superliga outfit Vejle for an undisclosed fee. There, he made 17 first team appearances and scored two goals. A year later, Nilsson transferred to BK Hacken in the Allsvenskan in Sweden. He made 19 league appearances and scored two goals during his time at BK Hacken before he was loaned to his old club, Falkenbergs FF.
After his loan stint at Falkenbergs, Nilsson made a permanent move to Wehen Wiesbaden in the 3. Liga in Germany in January 2021 for an undisclosed fee. During his time in Germany, he scored 18 goals and made 45 first team appearances. From Germany, Nilsson moved onto Belgium in a £860k transfer to Union Saint-Gilloise in the Pro League in July 2022. Over two seasons, Nilsson scored 17 goals and made 49 first team appearances.
In July 2024, Nilsson transferred again, this time for a hefty fee of around £5.4m to his present club, Club Brugge. Nilsson has started his time at Club Brugge on a positive note, having already made nine first team appearances and scored three goals.
Nilsson's international commitments saw him represent Sweden in the Nations League 2024 - 2025, coming off the bench for one appearance. Moreover, he has also featured for Club Brugge in the Super Cup and Champions League in the 2024 - 2025 season, making an appearance as a substitute in the former and a start in the latter.
