Jack Hendry, a Scottish-born footballer born on 7 May 1995, is a defender known primarily for his role as a central defender for Al-Ettifaq. Standing at a height of 6ft 4in (1.94m) and weighing in at 13st 12lb (88kg), Hendry is also a representative of the Scotland national team.
With a football career that commenced in Scotland, Hendry began his professional journey in July 2014 with Partick Thistle. The 2014 - 2015 season saw Hendry making his first team debut and in the following season, he made three more first team appearances.
In September 2015, Hendry made the move to England's Wigan Athletic for a reported fee of around £250k. The following March, he was loaned out to Shrewsbury Town where he made six first team appearances.
August 2016 saw another loan move for Hendry to MK Dons, where he made a further seven first team appearances. By July the following year, Hendry was back in Scotland, transferring to Dundee where he made 24 first team appearances, even managing to bag a goal.
In January 2018, a significant marker in Hendry's career, he transferred to Celtic for a fee of around £1.5m. During his time with Celtic, Hendry made a total of 15 first team appearances over the 2017 - 2018 and 2018 - 2019 seasons.
Hendry's career post-Celtic has seen him move across the globe, from Melbourne City in Australia, Oostende and Club Brugge in Belgium, to Cremonese in Italy. Each change brought new experiences and growth, along with a diverse range of first team appearances. Notably, his move from Celtic to Oostende in July 2020 on loan, which eventually became a deal worth £1.5m.
In August 2021, Hendry saw a substantial move to Club Brugge for a grand fee of £6m. After a short loan stint in Italy with Cremonese, Hendry returned to Belgium's Club Brugge. Finally, in July 2023, Hendry transferred to Al-Ettifaq in the Professional League in Saudi Arabia for a fee of £5.9m. As of the 2024 - 2025 season, he has made no first team appearances in league matches for Al-Ettifaq.
In addition to his club endeavours, Hendry has also had the opportunity and honour to represent Scotland in the Euro 2024 and the Euro Qualifiers 2022 - 2024, proving a staple with eight starts across the two competitions.
