Born on the 11th of September 1990, Jo Inge Berget hails from Norway and is currently strutting his stuff on the pitch as a forward for Sarpsborg 08, where he sports the number 14 jersey. The 34-year-old stands 6ft 1in tall (1.86m), and tips the scales at 12st 10lbs (81kg).
His career kicked off when he joined Lyn in Norway's OBOS-ligaen in January 2007, making sporadic appearances in the first team over the course of two seasons before hitting his stride in the 2009 season, netting five goals from a total of 26 appearances.
In January 2010, he transferred to Stromsgodset in the Eliteserien, where he spent a year and a half, featuring 31 times and scoring eight goals. Berget subsequently completed a move to Molde in August 2011. During his tenure there, he made 63 league appearances and scored 17 goals in total.
In 2014, Berget made the leap from Molde to Cardiff City in England's Championship. However, his stint there was rather short-lived, with the Norwegian international making just a single appearance in the 2013-2014 season.
July 2014 saw Berget move on loan to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership. His Scottish sojourn was marked by four appearances in the 2014-2015 season, and he found the back of the net twice during this period. Although Berget's stint at Celtic was brief, his contributions are fondly remembered by the Hoops' faithful.
As 2015 dawned, Berget transferred from Cardiff City to Malmo FF in Sweden, where he spent the better part of seven seasons, scoring with a consistent frequency during each season. During his time at Malmo, Berget's potency in front of the goal was particularly evident in the 2017 season, where he scored ten goals from 25 appearances, his best tally for the team.
Briefly, in 2018, Berget played for New York City FC in the USA's Major League Soccer, netting four goals in 23 appearances. But he soon returned to Malmo FF in March 2019, where he played four more seasons, scoring several goals throughout.
In December 2022, Berget moved on from Malmo FF, and in August 2023, he joined Sarpsborg 08 in the Eliteserien back in his home country. Currently, in the 2024 season, Berget continues to find the back of the net regularly, having scored three goals in 12 appearances so far.
