Joe Chalmers was born in Scotland on the 3rd of January, 1994. He is a central defensive midfielder who currently plays for Dunfermline Athletic. Standing at 5ft 10in (1.78m) and weighing 11st 6lb (73kg), Chalmers presents an imposing figure in the number 8 jersey.
In July 2011, he joined Celtic in the Premiership as a trainee, making his debut in the 2012 - 2013 season. Despite only making two appearances for the first team in league matches, his time at Celtic was an important stepping stone in his career. In January 2014, he was loaned to Falkirk in the Championship where he made 11 first team appearances during the 2013 - 2014 season.
After his successful stint at Falkirk, Chalmers returned to Celtic in July 2014, again making two appearances in the first team. In July 2015, he transferred to Motherwell in the Premiership, where he made a total of 25 appearances over two seasons.
Chalmers continued his Scottish tour with a transfer to Inverness CT in the League One in July 2017 where he played 21 matches and scored his first league goal. After two years, he transferred to Ross County in the Premiership, marking the 2019 - 2020 season with 14 appearances and three impressive goals.
Although the transfer fee was undisclosed, Chalmers' move to Ayr United in the Championship in September 2020 represented a new chapter in his career. After a brief spell with Ayr United, he was transferred to Dunfermline Athletic in the Championship in January 2022 for an undisclosed fee.
Chalmers quickly established himself as a key player at Dunfermline, with 27 appearances in the 2022 - 2023 season, 29 appearances in the 2023 - 2024 season and six appearances so far in the current 2024 - 2025 season. He has also participated in the League Cup 2024 - 2025, with two starts and two substitute appearances and in the Challenge Cup 2024 - 2025 with one start.
