Kamal Sowah, a Ghana-born forward, came into this world on the 9th January 2000 making him 24 years of age currently. He primarily lands his skills on the right wing for Club Brugge. Standing at 5ft 10in (1.79m) and weighing 10st 5lb (66kg), Sowah is a balanced figure for a footballer.
In the grand scheme of things, with a current market value just shy of €1.3m (£1m), as mentioned by Transfermarkt, he's not breaking any bank. His current contract with Club Brugge has less than a year to run, with an expiration date pinned for 30th June 2025.
The young chap’s transfer history includes a rather nebulous move in January 2018 when he transferred from Ghana's Right to Dream Academy to Premier League outfit, Leicester City in England. The fee of this transaction? Only the clubs know, I'm afraid. However, his time at Leicester City was brief as he was immediately loaned to Belgian Pro League side Oud-Heverlee Leuven. His debut season (2020 - 2021) at Oud-Heverlee Leuven seemed quite the spectacle with 34 first team appearances and eight goals to his name in league matches.
Come August 2021, Sowah's boots were on the move again. He transferred from Leicester City to Club Brugge, another member of the Belgian Pro League, in a deal that cost around £8.1m. Between the 2021 and 2023 seasons, he made 36 appearances for Club Brugge in league matches, gaining some experience it seems. However, in the current 2024 - 2025 season, he's yet to make a show on the field for Club Brugge.
Old habits die hard, it seems. In January 2022, Sowah was transferred, this time on loan, from Club Brugge to AZ in the Dutch Eredivisie. His stint at AZ was indeed short-lived, with just eight appearances in that half season. A short spell which ended in June 2022 when he returned to Club Brugge.
In another twist, Sowah was loaned out yet again in September 2023, this time to Standard Liege of the Belgian Pro League. He made 21 appearances and scored twice in the 2023 - 2024 season. His loan spell ended in June 2024, and Sowah returned to Club Brugge where he, unfortunately, hasn't made a league appearance in the current season.
