Kasper Schmeichel, born on 5 November 1986 in Denmark, is a goalkeeper for Celtic. Standing at 6ft 2in (1.89m) tall and weighing 14st (89kg), Schmeichel dons the number 1 jersey and has represented the Denmark national team. His current market value is around £1m according to Transfermarkt, and his contract with Celtic will expire on 30 June 2025.
Starting his career in Manchester City as a trainee in November 2004, he made eight first team appearances in league matches over the 2007 and 2008 seasons. January 2006 saw his transfer to Darlington on loan, where he made four first team appearances in league matches within the season. Later in February, Schmeichel was loaned to Bury, making a total of 29 first team appearances in league matches over two seasons.
Schmeichel's career took him to Scotland in January 2007, when he was loaned to Falkirk. He made 15 first team appearances in league matches that season.
