Born on the fittingly football-charged date of 16th November 2003, Lorenzo Bernasconi is a native son of the boot-shaped peninsula known as Italy. At the tender age of 20, the largely unheralded Bernasconi, however, is making his name as a calculated but dynamic left back with Atalanta. The lad stands tall, quite literally, measuring a healthy 6ft 2in(1.9m), with a well-maintained weight of 11st 4lb(72kg). And, just to keep numbers enthusiasts reading, Bernasconi parades the number 47 on his jersey.
According to Transfermarkt, Bernasconi's current market value is estimated to hover around a modest £107k, amply demonstrating that the best things in football do not always demand princely sums or the wages of an extortionist.
Young Bernasconi’s fledgling career trajectory is intertwined with the narrative of Italian football. His story begins in 2019, when he trotted off to Cremonese in Italy's Serie B for his first taste of organised professional football. It was there he was christened a footballer, graduating from trainee status.
The wind of change blew again in 2021 when Bernasconi swapped his unfamiliarity at Cremonese for a loan spell with Atalanta, thus marking his maiden foray into the gladiatorial arena of Serie A football.
Fast forward to a bloody August in 2024, Bernasconi bid adieu to Atalanta's U23 side and finally made a more permanent shift to Atalanta’s first team, arming himself to tackle the heavy artillery of Serie A football. An encouraging narrative for the lad, who seemingly is on an optimistic upward trajectory that belies his tender years.
