Born on 17th January 2000 in Honduras, Luis Palma is a 24-year-old footballer who holds an essential role as a forward for Celtic, most noticeably playing as a left winger. Standing at 5 foot 8 inches tall (1.75m), Palma's physicality is further marked by his weight of 11 stone 2 pounds (71kg). Wearing the number 7 shirt, he has both boasted this numerical symbol of pride for his club Celtic, and shown it off whilst representing his home nation of Honduras.
Palma's journey to Celtic wasn't a direct one. In January 2022, he transferred from Vida in the Honduras League Teams to Aris FC in Greece's Super League for an undisclosed fee. During his 2021 - 2022 season at Aris FC, he truly began to flex his skills, making 11 first-team appearances and scoring two goals in league matches. The next season, he amped up his performance, producing 11 goals from 29 first team appearances. His final season with Aris in 2023 - 2024, although short, included a valuable first team appearance.
Then, in August 2023, his football path diverged from sunny Greece to the passion-fuelled Premiership in Scotland, with a transfer to Celtic at around Β£3.4 million. No doubt a big investment from the club, Palma made good use of his debut season (2023 - 2024) at Celtic, scoring seven goals from 28 first team appearances. In the current season (2024 - 2025), he has so far made seven appearances on the league pitch.
Beyond the league games, Palma has played in critical fixtures, including the Champions League 2023 - 2024 for Celtic. In it, he scored twice in four starts, and made one appearance as a substitute. Additionally, he was seen on the pitch for the League Cup 2024 - 2025, kickstarting one match and coming on as a substitute in another, and yet again in the Champions League 2024 - 2025, where he made another substitute appearance. Clearly, Luis Palma continues to be a valuable asset to Celtic, both in the domestic league and the international platform.
