Maarten Vandevoordt, born 26th February 2002, hails from Belgium and currently commands the area between the sticks for RB Leipzig. The lad is well built, standing at a lofty 6ft 3in (around 1.92m) tall, and tipping the scales at approximately 12st 8lb (80kg). As seems fitting for a man of his position, Vandevoordt sports the number 26 jersey with pride. In addition to his club duties, he's also stood as the last line of defence for the Belgium national team.
Led by the data provided by Transfermarkt, Vandevoordt's current market value is estimated to be circling around £7m. The lad is fairly rooted at RB Leipzig as well, with his contract expected to expire on 30 June 2029 – more than 4 years and 8 months hence.
Vandevoordt’s journey to RB Leipzig saw him start as a trainee at Genk in the Pro League in Belgium back in July 2017, marking his first-team debut in the 2018-2019 season. Under Genk's banner, he took to the field once in the league in his first season, gradually increasing his appearances until he made 34 league appearances in his last two seasons (2021 - 2022 and 2022 - 2023 respectively). Before his departure in July 2024, he further made 30 appearances in the 2023 - 2024 season.
The move from Genk to RB Leipzig set the German club back some £8.6m. Since joining RB Leipzig, in the current 2024 - 2025 season, Vandevoordt has made only one first-team league appearance thus far.
In the realm of international football, the goalie hasn't been found wanting. Vandevoordt has represented Belgium in the UEFA U21 qualifiers 2023 with three starts and the UEFA U21 Championship qualifiers 2024–2025 with eight starts.
