Mario Pasalic, a central midfielder for Atalanta, was born on 9 February 1995 (age 29) in Germany. Standing 1.86m (6ft 1in) tall and weighing 78kg (12st 3lb), Pasalic carves a significant presence in the midfield. He plays with the number 8 jersey and is also known for his contributions to the Croatian national team.

Pasalic entered professional football in July 2012 when he joined Hajduk Split in the HNL in Croatia. In his debut season (2012 - 2013) he made two first team appearances, and in the following campaign (2013 - 2014), he played 30 matches bagging 11 goals.
In July 2014, Pasalic transferred to Chelsea in the Premier League in England for a fee approaching £3m, but he was loaned out to Elche in Spain where he made 31 appearances and scored three goals in the 2014 - 2015 season.
