Marko Rog, born on 19 July 1995 in Croatia, is a midfielder primarily playing as a central midfielder for Dinamo Zagreb. Standing at a respectable 5ft 10in (1.78m) and weighing in at 11st 9lb (74kg), Rog cut an athletic figure on the pitch.
As per Transfermarkt, Rog's current market value is estimated to be approximately £1m. His contract with Dinamo Zagreb is due to expire on 1 January 2025, which is now just a month away.
Rog's career began in earnest in July 2014 when he joined RNK Split in the Treća HNL in Croatia. He made a solid first impression in his debut 2014 - 2015 season, contributing seven goals in 30 first team appearances. 2015 saw a move to Dinamo Zagreb in the HNL in Croatia for an approximate fee of £3.5m. He continued his strong performances, making 34 first team appearances and scoring three goals in the 2015 - 2016 season alone.
In August 2016, Rog traded shores as he transferred to Napoli in the Serie A in Italy for an approximately hefty sum of £12m. Here, he made a total of 52 first-team appearances across several seasons, scoring two goals. A six-month loan spell to Sevilla in LaLiga, Spain was followed by his return to Napoli.
Rog's journey then took him to Cagliari in the Serie A in Italy where he arrived in July 2019. The following seasons saw him make a total of 73 first team appearances, scoring two goals, despite some sudden dips in appearances over certain seasons.
In February 2024, he transferred on loan back to Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia, where he initially made his mark. His return has so far seen him make 20 first team appearances in the 2023-24 season and the current 2024-25 season.
Rog represented Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League Qualifiers 2024 - 2025, and again in the Champions League 2024 - 2025, adding further international experience under his belt.
