Marley Watkins, born on 17 October 1990, is a striker of the footballing kind. He currently toils up front for Kilmarnock. The lad is 5ft 10in in height and tips the scales at a decent 10st 3lb. You'll find him sporting the number 23 jersey on the pitch.
Watkins' journey kicked off over in England with Cheltenham Town back in 2008. He turned up on the team sheet a fair few times, 12 in his first season and 13 in the next. Even managed to put one past the goalie in that second year. From there, it was a short hop to Bath City. He upped his goal tally while there, bagging three in the 2010-11 season and five in the next.
Hereford United came next in 2012, adding another five goals to Watkins' tally from 34 games. He crossed the border to join Inverness CT in 2013, scoring a single goal in 26 appearances. Next season saw a better return, seven goals from 33 outings.
For the 2015 and 2016 seasons, he was back down south with Barnsley, chalking up 15 goals in total. Norwich City was the next stop in 2017, but the net didn't bulge that year.
Watkins made his debut for Bristol City in 2018. The lad found the back of the net a total of three times in 25 outings spanning two seasons. It was then up north to Aberdeen, where his boots scored a respectable five goals across two terms.
Watkins moved to Kilmarnock in 2023 and it's been a decent run. Nine goals from 36 appearances in his maiden season, but in the current term, he hasn't marked the chalk as yet.
Besides the league, Watkins also had a runout in the Scottish Cup and the Europa League Qualifying. He netted twice in three starts for the former and one in the latter. Cold figures, perhaps, but they mark a man's career, each digit a game, a moment, a memory.
