On the 25th of April, 1993, a Scotsman by the name of Martin Boyle was born. Fast forward 31 years and Boyle has forged a strong reputation as a forward, specialising in the right-wing position for Hibernian FC, standing at 5ft 10in (1.78m) and weighing 11st (70kg). He is often seen sporting the number 10 jersey.
In July 2009, the young Boyle began his professional career at Montrose in League One, Scotland, serving as a trainee. Over the next four seasons at Montrose, Boyle showcased his potential by scoring 37 goals in 79 appearances.
The Scottish Premiership team, Dundee, saw potential in Boyle and he transferred to them in August 2012 for an undisclosed fee. However, in January 2013, he was sent back to Montrose on loan and proceeded to make significant contributions for the rest of the season. After the season ended, Boyle returned to Dundee in the Premiership.
Boyle managed to make a total of 56 appearances for Dundee. In January 2015, he was sent on a loan spell to Hibernian, a Premiership team, once again. By July of that year, Hibernian decided to make the deal permanent and so Boyle officially transferred from Dundee to Hibernian.
Since joining Hibernian, Boyle has been a vital part of the team, making more than 200 appearances and scoring more than 40 goals. In January 2022, he transferred to Al-Faisaly, a First Division team in Saudi Arabia, for a fee of around £3m. But only seven months later, he once again returned to his preferred stomping ground at Hibernian.
Across all seasons with Hibernian, Boyle has put in strong performances, with his recent stats showing that in the current 2024 - 2025 season, he has already scored two goals in five appearances. He has also participated in the League Cup 2024 - 2025 for Hibernian, scoring three goals in five starts, and the Scottish Cup 2023 - 2024, contributing one goal in two starts.
Through the ups and downs, Martin Boyle remains a consistent and stalwart player who has marked his character and prowess on the Scottish football scene.
