Michel-Ange Balikwisha, born on 10 May 2001 in Belgium, is a forward who mainly operates as a left winger for Royal Antwerp. He stands at a height of 5ft 9in and tips the scales at 11 stone. His kit bears the number 10. Balikwisha has also put on the Belgium U21 national team jersey.
Throughout the 2023-2024 season, Balikwisha laced his boots 23 times for Royal Antwerp in the Pro League, netting the ball five times in 20 starts and three substitute appearances. His prowess also shone in the Champions League, where he registered one goal in five starts. He appeared once in the Beker van België, twice with an additional substitute showing in the UEFA U21, and featured in the Pro League Play-Offs, scoring twice from seven starts and three appearances off the bench.
Balikwisha cut his teeth at Standard Liege in the Pro League after joining the side in July 2014 as a trainee. He then moved to Royal Antwerp in July 2021 for an estimated figure of £5.4m. During his debut season (2020-2021) with Standard Liege, he chalked up 26 first team appearances and found the back of the net seven times.
On swapping Standard Liege for Royal Antwerp, Balikwisha managed 26 first team appearances, striking the ball home four times in the 2021-2022 season. The following season, he boosted his tally to six goals from 27 appearances. During the 2023-2024 season, he tallied five goals in 23 appearances. In the upcoming 2024-2025 season, we will once again be seeing Balikwisha draped in the Royal Antwerp jersey.
