Nicky Devlin, born on the 17th October 1993, is a hardened Scot and seasoned defender. July 2013 marked his final departure from Motherwell, officially transferring to Stenhousemuir where he would again participate in 30 league games in the 2013-2014 season. His career continued to progress with his transfer to Ayr United, within Scotland’s Championship tier, in July 2014. His three seasons here were fruitful; 36 matches and two goals in the 2014-2015 season, 34 matches and one goal in 2015-2016, and a final tally of 34 appearances for 2016-2017.
2017 saw him pursue a new adventure, transferring to Walsall in England’s League Two. His sole 2017-2018 season with the club saw him feature in 18 league matches. July 2019 marked his return to Scottish football when he transferred to Livingston in the Championship. He steadily built a robust record, clocking 11 appearances for the 2019-2020 season, then souring up to 36, and scoring two goals, in 2020-2021. His stint at the Lions concluded with two successful seasons, featuring in 37 and 38 matches in 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 respectively, scoring two goals in each.
In July 2023, he moved to his current club, Aberdeen, in the Premiership. His first season saw him take part in 37 matches, contributing a duo of goals. Thus far in the current 2024-2025 season, he’s marched on the pitch in 14 fixtures, shining more brightly by adding four goals to his tally.
