Odsonne Édouard, born 16 January 1998 in French Guiana, is a forward in the coveted position of number 9 striker for Leicester City. Standing 6ft 1in (1.87m) tall and weighing in at 13st (83kg), his physicality complements his offensive prowess. His current market value, as per Transfermarkt, is an estimated £15m, and he is under contract with Leicester City until 30 June 2025.
Édouard's journey to the upper echelons of football began when Paris Saint-Germain took him under their wing in July 2011. In August 2016, he was loaned out to Toulouse, where in his debut season he made 16 first team appearances and netted one goal.
In August 2017, Édouard was loaned out from Paris Saint-Germain to Celtic. Here he made an impressive splash, with 9 goals in his first season from 22 appearances. His consistently improving performance rewarded him with a permanent contract in July 2018 that came with a £9m price tag.
Édouard's stint with Celtic was particularly fruitful, with him gradually turning into a scoring machine. Over the course of five seasons at Celtic, he totalled 116 first team appearances and achieved 66 goals, thus carving out a compelling legacy for himself within the Premiership in Scotland.
In August 2021, Édouard was snapped up by Crystal Palace for around £14m. Over three years at Crystal Palace he continued to impress, amassing 95 first team appearances and 18 goals across all seasons.
Eventually, Leicester City came calling, and in August 2024 he was transferred on loan. So far in the current season, he has made four first team appearances for Leicester City. He also played in the League Cup 2024 - 2025 for Leicester City making one start and one appearance as a substitute.
