Owen Moffatt, born 6 January 2002 in Scotland, is a left winger plying his trade for Greenock Morton. At the age of 22, he stands 5ft 8in (1.73m) tall and has a weight of 10st 5lb (66kg). The number 7 jersey is what he's often seen sporting during matches.
Moffat initiated his professional football journey as a trainee with Celtic in the Scottish Premiership, officially joining their ranks in July 2019. His nascent stages at Parkhead were largely underwhelming, owing to the club's wealth of talent vying for first-team action. Despite this, he managed to make two first team appearances in his debut season of 2021 - 2022. It was evident that the left-winger had sparked interest among football watchers, despite his modest contributions on the pitch.
In August 2022, Moffat made a surprise move to Blackpool, contending in England's League One. His stint here was brief, for in September 2023, he was subsequently loaned out to Dunfermline Athletic in the Scottish Championship. Here, the spry winger demonstrated his potential by making a substantial 28 appearances, and chalking up three goals in the 2023 - 2024 season.
His form at Dunfermline seemed to catch the attention of Greenock Morton in Scotland. In July 2024, they decided to acquire Moffat from Blackpool permanently. So far during the 2024 - 2025 season at Greenock, he has made a promising start; eight first team appearances attest to his growing importance, with a bonus inclusion of a solitary strike.
Interestingly, Moffatt's contributions aren’t confined to just league matches. He has proved himself in cup competition too, netting one goal in the League Cup 2024 - 2025, from four starting appearances for Greenock Morton. A player sure to write many more chapters in his football tale, Owen Moffatt without a doubt is one to observe with keen interest.
