Paul Caddis, a right back defender, stands a moderately built 5ft 6in tall and tips the scales at 10st 7lb. Born on 19th April 1988, the Scot began his professional football career as a trainee at Celtic in July 2006.
At Celtic, Caddis had a somewhat lukewarm first season (2007 - 2008), where he managed to secure three first-team appearances. During his second season at Celtic (2008 - 2009), Caddis played a total of four first-team games. However, his time at the club was interrupted by a loan move to Dundee United in February 2009. After 11 appearances for the Tangerines, Caddis returned to Celtic, completing his loan stint in May 2009.
In the 2009 - 2010 season, Caddis increased his contribution to Celtic, making ten first-team appearances. Despite this improvement, the club let go of Caddis, with the right back finding a new home at Swindon Town in England in August 2010. Celtic's loss proved to be Swindon's gain, as Caddis went on to establish himself as a key player there, making 38 first-team appearances and scoring his maiden goal in his debut season.
Caddis’ second season at Swindon (2011 - 2012) was even more promising, with the defender featuring in an impressive 39 games and netting four goals. This performance undoubtedly caught the attention of Birmingham City, who loaned Caddis in August 2012 and then purchased him outright for an undisclosed fee in September 2013.
While at Birmingham City, Caddis enjoyed a productive period in his career, regularly featuring in the first team and notably scoring five goals during the 2013 - 2014 season. Caddis’ final full season at Birmingham (2015 - 2016) saw the defender make 39 appearances, with four goals to his name.
Following a brief spell at Bury, Caddis transferred to Blackburn Rovers in July 2017. Despite a stable debut season, his time at Blackburn was short-lived, with Caddis leaving the club just over a year later. After a short stint at Bradfor City, Caddis returned to Swindon Town in November 2019.
In June 2021, Caddis was on the move again, leaving Swindon Town to join an unnamed club. Despite the ups and downs of his career, the consistent first team appearances suggest Caddis as a reliable and solid right back in the lower leagues of English football.
