Born in Denmark on 16th February 1998, Peter Vindahl Jensen has carved out a noteworthy career as a goalkeeper in both his home country and abroad. Standing at a towering 6ft 5in (1.96m) and weighing 13st 9lb (87kg), Jensen's physical stature is well-suited to his position between the sticks.
He began his career in Danish football, moving to Superliga club FC Nordsjælland in July 2015. According to data from Transfermarkt, Vindahl's debut season in 2019-2020 saw him make just one first-team league appearance, but the following season proved more fruitful, with 31 first-team appearances in league matches. His final season with FC Nordsjælland in 2021-2022 saw him make a further five appearances.
In August 2021, a transfer materialised that would take Vindahl out of Denmark for the first time in his career; he moved to Eredivisie club AZ in the Netherlands for a fee of around £1.7m. His season at AZ saw him make an impressive 32 first-team appearances.
However, a year and a half later in January 2023, AZ opted to send the Dane out on loan to 2. Bundesliga club Nuremberg in Germany. Vindahl made a respectable 14 first-team appearances during his spell in Germany.
In July 2023, Vindahl found himself on the move again, this time to the Czech Republic. AZ loaned him to First League club Sparta Prague. His first season there saw him rack up 33 first-team appearances, while in the current season (2024-2025) he has so far made ten starts.
This successful loan spell precipitated a permanent move in July 2024, with Sparta Prague securing Vindahl's services from AZ for a fee of around £1.3m. His performances during the 2023-2024 season mirrored his form during his loan spell, with another 33 first-team appearances to his name. He has so far added a further ten appearances in the current season.
Vindahl's goalkeeping talents have also been recognised on an international stage; he's had the honour of representing his native Denmark on the national team, and has been involved in European competition with Sparta Prague, making ten starts in the Europa League 2023-2024, six starts in the Champions League Qualifiers 2024-2025, and two starts in the Champions League 2024-2025.
